AMMAN, Jordan – October 2017
Jean Claude IZABAYO, President of JEC Rwanda, participated in the IYCS meeting held here in Jordan in October 2017. During his visit, IZABAYO had a productive meeting with students and leaders of the American University of Madaba. The conference focused on examining the concept of integral ecology through the lens of different religious perspectives and scriptures.
The discussions highlighted the importance of environmental protection not just through physical actions but also through fostering a sense of environmental responsibility within ourselves. IZABAYO emphasized that true environmental stewardship requires not only clean hands, homes, and cities but also clean hearts. This shift in perspective, he argued, allows us to think creatively and participate actively in finding solutions to global environmental challenges.
The visit was part of the #IYCSGTS2017 initiative, which promotes international collaboration on environmental issues.
