With spirits high, YCSers freshened up and made their way to the main hall, where the true essence of the day unfolded through powerful speeches and insightful discussions.

Building Networks & Embracing YCS Values

The session opened with a prayer from Mr. President H.E before a lineup of esteemed speakers took center stage:

  • Sir Aimable, a dedicated YCS member since 2005 and former National Treasurer (2015–2019), shared his remarkable journey. His message was clear: YCS is more than a movement—it’s a network that builds futures. He emphasized that strong relationships within the YCS community helped him land a job post-graduation, reinforcing the value of connection.

He left the audience with three golden passwords for success:

  • Surround yourself with important people.
  • Cultivate a positive attitude in society.
  • Always do the right thing, at the right time, in the right place—a principle echoed in the Latin phrase AGE QUOD AGIS (Do well whatever you do).
  • Mr. Patrick, a Mathematics Master’s degree holder now teaching at IFAK Kimihurura, echoed this sentiment. Despite working at numerous institutions, he had only submitted one job application in his lifetime—thanks to a recommendation from a YCS friend. His testimony emphasized the power of networking, risk-taking, and decision-making, applying the SEE, JUDGE, and ACT YCS methodology.
  • Mr. Thierry Hirwa took the floor to discuss the movement’s impact on personal and professional growth. He encouraged YCSers to actively exchange ideas, urging the committee to organize more frequent events to foster development. His words resonated:
“YCS-Gala ni AKANTU GATO ARIKO KANINI”—A small event with a massive impact!

Celebration, Symbolism, and Brotherhood

As the discussions concluded, the committee proudly presented YCS Rwanda merchandise, including clothing, banners, hats, and the official magazine, “Soleil Levant.” The speakers of the day were honored, with Sir Aimable receiving a YCS hat and a copy of “Soleil Levant.”

And then—the feast! A well-prepared meal brought attendees together to share laughter and appreciation, thanks to Mr. Diocles and Miss Laura for their organization.

A Heartfelt Closing Message

Taking the stage, Mr. Alexandre, the National Secretary and MC, extended gratitude to the speakers and proposed a special match for senior YCSers, a request that Sir Aimable happily agreed to pass on.

In his final remarks, Mr. President H.E delivered an inspiring message:
“Being a JEC member is not enough—you must be a true JEC!”

He encouraged all attendees to embody the movement’s values through his personal mottos:

  • “Ikintu gikwiye gukorwa, naba nkishinzwe cg ntagishinzwe ndagikora” (If something needs to be done, I do it—whether I am assigned or not.)
  • “Aho nkenewe nigirayo, ntabwo ntuma” (Wherever I am needed, I go—I don’t send someone else.)

With these guiding principles, the YCS movement stands to grow stronger, faster, and more united than ever before.

The Joyful Conclusion

The celebration continued into the night with music, dance, discussions, and laughter, marking the perfect end to an unforgettable day. Attendees left with smiles and memories to cherish, eagerly anticipating the next reunion.
